Children and Julia.jpgExploring Music
a one-hour concert-demonstration

Appropriate for large audiences, these concerts are fun and informal with plenty of opportunity for active participation. The musicians are enthusiastic about their instruments and are happy to talk about them informatively, to answer questions and to engage the children in a wide-ranging choice of music with songs and games led from the platform. These concerts have been enjoyed by thousands of schoolchildren throughout England, Scotland and Wales.

Music Day

A mini residency! Musicians spend the day performing for and working with pupils, followed by fun musical activities for children attending the after-school club in the late afternoon.

The LMP developed its “Music Days” as a major project for 4 - 11 year olds in primary schools and out-of-school clubs in an initiative supported by Nestlé in collaboration with the childcare organisation 4Children, a highly successful model that the orchestra still offers to schools where funding permits.

Schools' Concerts

Tailormade for 7 - 11 year olds on an imaginative theme, a presenter welcomes the children to the concert hall and invites them to “meet the orchestra” in a lively and fast-moving programme with plenty of opportunity for active participation.
