The LMP became The Anvil's Orchestra in Association in the 1996/97 season, and since that time has been the chamber orchestra that has performed most frequently at The Anvil. The orchestra now has an established following among The Anvil's audience and visits three times per season.

The Association also involves players working in schools and other areas of the Basingstoke and wider Hampshire community.
