South Holland, Lincolnshire

The rural district of South Holland is located in the county of Lincolnshire. It is a small district the county, with ca. 750 square kilometer (ca. 290 square miles) and Spalding is its main market town, famous for its annual flower festival.

South Holland District Council initiated a scheme to bring classical music to the area and the LMP put in the successful bid that is supported by Orchestras Live and Arts Council England. By touring in South Holland the LMP hopes to become part of the community.

The LMP launches the residency in May 2008, followed by a tour in June.

This residency follows on the success of the LMP's residency in East Lindsey.
