The LMP became The Anvil's Orchestra in Association in the 1996/97 season, and since that time has been the chamber orchestra that has performed most frequently at The Anvil. The orchestra now has an established following among The Anvil's audience and visits three times per season.
The Association also involves players working in schools and other areas of the Basingstoke and wider Hampshire community. The Anvil was very happy to be included as part of the LMP's groundbreaking project with the World Quintet in 2002, and the Mozart Weekend held there in January 2006 was a great success, reaching many members of the community with a Family Event, 'Wake Up , Mr Mozart!' as well as chamber and orchestral concerts.
