Christopher NewportChristopher Newport joined the London Mozart Players in 1985

Where else do you teach/play?
Glyndebourne Touring Opera, Garsington Opera and as an extra player in numerous orchestras such as the BBCSO.

Where were you born?
Lincoln.

How old were you when you started playing, and why did you take up the horn?
13, the school needed horn players and there was a spare horn in the music store.

What has been your most fun/interesting musical experience so far?
The most fun was probably playing on the QE2 with the LMP Wind Ensemble - the food was great!

Who have you enjoyed working with the most and why?
Andre Previn – it was great fun, one felt appreciated and the music making was of a great standard and you were not afraid to play.

Do you play any other instruments?
Piano.

Do you have any hobbies you manage to fit into your spare time?
Sailing, DIY.

Where is your favourite holiday destination?
France .

What's your favourite sound?
Tea being poured from a teapot.

What would you be if you weren't a musician?
Boat builder.
