LMP Brass Quintet in North Cotes, Lincs

Paul ArchibaldThe LMP Brass Quintet returns to East Lindsey with a programme featuring music from the 17th to the 20th century. Featuring staples of the brass repertoire that have been enjoyed by audiences for many years, such as the Malcolm Arnold Brass Quintet and Poulenc's Sonata, it gives those players normally hiding at the back of the orchestra a chance to step forth and show us what they can do.

Principal Trumpet Paul Archibald has also arranged some Jacobean Consort Music, including works by Byrd and Gibbons, that is full of flowing, interweaving lines exchanged between the players. The concert ends with two fun pieces. Freeway is a light-hearted celebration of the open road, featuring movements such as 'Canzon Cabriolet' and 'Rondo a la Trucker', while Koetsier's Quintet has a jazzy Sunday afternoon in the park feel to it.
