For its first tour in South Holland, the LMP brings a delightful programme featuring works for strings and horn by Mozart and the Russian composer Glazunov. Mozart never was one for convention and both the Horn and String Quintet show this. The combination of horn with strings is an unusual one, but Mozart's managed it beautifully in the Horn Quintet. His love for the viola shines through in all his String Quintets, as he uses two instead of the customary one, which makes for a different colour and structure than other string quintets. The programme is completes by one of Mozart's many Divertimentos and Glazunov's Idyll.
